AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut at the club , and also helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minute during the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was second in the United States to score 20 assists and 28 goals for 2012, making her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
